If your students are studying colonialism, one of the best field trips you can take them on is to Williamsburg, VA. Grab your laptop, your Clear wire internet and head to colonial Williamsburg to give your kids a live dose of history. Be sure to check out some some of the best hot spots in all of Williamsburg!

Jamestown Settlement: It’s one of the most fascinating “live” museums in the world and it’s close to the actual settlement of Jamestown in Virginia. Watch colonial actors churn butter, shoot rifles and handle livestock – it doesn’t get any more hands-on than this!

Wren Building: It’s the oldest college building in the entire country and the campus it sits on is inspiringly beautiful. Wren’s lawn makes a great place for a class picnic and a nice break in the day if your kids are tuckered out from all the sightseeing.

Rockerfeller Folk Art Museum: If you’re looking for a museum that’s fun enough for kids, this is your stop. There’s furniture, art and tons of interactive exhibits and your kids will love all the antique diorama type exhibits to be seen.
